This “advice column” or whatever it is, is not me being “holier-than-thou” or me talking down to anybody like I’m some kind of saint. It’s actually quite the opposite. I started writing these entries as a reminder to myself of the things I need to hear when I’m not in the mood to hear them. There are times in life when I need to be reminded of the things God has said to, for and about me at times when being reminded of the truth is rather inconvenient (“I liked being mad, dangit” or “but she is an idiot! I’m just stating the obvious, what’s wrong with that?” or “it’s okay to be upset, it’s okay to cry, it’s okay to forgive yourself, it really is okay to let go of your guilt or shame or anger”).
I truly believe God sent His son to die for me because He loves me. I also tend to forget what that means. I also tend to forget that as much as God loves me, He will also be the judge of my soul. Therefore, I need to be reminded how and why I need to get my act right and live right. That’s all this is.
If you are somehow blessed or touched by these entries, then great, God’s talking to you too. If not, hopefully this will just come off as some general good advice, ![]()
